Introducing The Bible Study Group

The Bible Study group meets on the first Thursday of each month at the home of Frank and Christine Ponniah. Since it started the group has traced a theme, love, through the Bible; and it has studied three whole books - Joshua in the Old Testament (which it found quite hard going), St Mark’s Gospel and St Matthew’s Gospel.

So the group has already tried two approaches. The thematic approach takes part of the Christian life as a theme to discover what the Bible says about it, in both the Old and the New Testaments, and in a mix of the very different sorts of book which make up the Bible. The other, continuous approach takes a whole book to see what it said, and what it says to us now. Both approaches help. 

Christina Ponniah leads most of the meetings but some meetings are led by other members of the group. The group still has room for new members.
