Dear St. Mary Le Tower We wanted to take this opportunity to thank your Church for its extremely generous gift. We have chosen to split the money you have raised into two different areas. £3000 will pay for the school teacher, Marcia (for another year), who comes from the local town to the farm daily to give the children extra tuition. Our children had fallen behind in their education due to their previous living conditions and circumstances. As Children in Brazil only attend school for half a day Marcia's extra schooling has benefited them greatly and they have now caught up. As a result some of the children have even risen to the top of their class, which is a great achievement. Marcia's classes have also played an enormous role in increasing the children's self esteem. To the extent that all of them have vastly improved and just recently one of the boys, Edivaldo, won first place in local inter-schools drawing competition. He is a very talented young man and was encouraged to enter by Marcia who has helped to hone his drawing skills. The rest of the money will be included in the general funds of the farm. General funds go towards paying for food for the children, salaries for the farm workers, repairs for vehicles, on going house maintenance, weekend camps for children who live in the local city Favelas and a retreat for resting missionaries who work for other projects based in the region. All of which are extremely important for the future of the project and stability for the children. Thank you once again and we will continue to keep you informed of what is happening over here. Our website is http://www.rainbowfarm.org if you would like to keep up with our progress. Many blessings to you Andy, Lisa and Sally and all at Rainbow Farm |
