The children’s group at Saint Mary le Tower runs on Sunday mornings during our parish communion service at 10.30 AM.  The group is for children from the age of 3 and up to the early teenage years.   We can also provide supervised free play for the younger children when required.

In addition we run children’s faith activities on Monday and Tuesday afternoons between 4.30 and 5.15pm for members of our boys and girls choirs.

The programme for both Sunday and the weekday children’s groups follows the Gospel readings used in the 10.30am Sunday morning service.

Our mission is to share the stories and messages from the Bible and to help the children to understand what God’s word might mean in their own lives and for their families and friends.

We aim to provide a fun learning context, believing that children learn best when they are enjoying themselves. Activities are chosen to give children the message that they are important to God.  Our approach is practical.   We are interested in each one of them as people and show them that their enjoyment is really important to us.  We use craft activities, active games, messy play, story telling and drama, as well as quieter contemplative moments of prayer and thoughtfulness.

On Sundays the children rejoin the main service towards the end.  They are invited to come to the front of the church and share what they have been doing.  The congregation show their appreciation of the children and in turn the children’s feedback and reflections enrich everyone’s learning.
